Are they slugs? If not let them live, soil is a complex living organism. Especially with morning glories (pretty pest resistant) you shouldn't have any problems, your more likely to do more harm than good to the young plants trying to get rid of them. As long as they're not slugs you should be fine. If they are go with diatomaceous earth if you want to stay organic, but commercial slug bait works really well.

worms are very good for soil, they loosen the soil so your root grow bigger faster and the worm castings they leave behind are one of the best ferts i have ever used.
i add worms to my outside window pots, beds and what ever i can.
worms are good!!

it's possible those little white worms are larvae for some type of insect. If you start seeing odd flying bugs in your garden soon you'll know where they came from.
Try and id whatever it is you have, if it's a pest you don't want you definitely want to nip the problem in the bud before your plant is just a dying stem in a pot

do teh worms have a sort of collar?? maybe 1/4 down there head? do they have small bristles on the bottom. you might not be able to see them may be able to feel them. if they do they are probably cool.

I recently had little white worm like things in my Peat moss containers. I was growing Kratom in. It started as little specks of Saliva on the top of the peat then I'd move the peat a little and just under I'd find little white worms.
I thought at first they were fruit fly maggots or something but they aren't there any more. They might of been there because I had had the soil to waterlogged. Since then I've let it dry out more they seem to be gone. They didn't hurt my Kratom seedlings. So I'm happy.

i cant tell how big they are do you have anything to compare their size to? i have noticed little worms that turned out to be fungus knat larva. could be nematodes. if they are big as in larger then 2-3mm they are most likely worms. if you want them gone put some diatomacous earth on the surface.
