I find that hard to believe. But I really don't know.

--------------------
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to selfishness;
From selfishness to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

According to A Worldwide Distribution of Neurotropic Fungi, Psilocybe cubensis occurs in Kenya. I added it to the list.

But they also say that Psilocybe cyanescens grows in Kentucky. (source is Guzman, 1999a)

here is some pictures cubensis grow on transkeii south africa http://forums.mycotopia.net/forum-international/30443-wild-pix-transkeii-south-africa-mushrooms-ganja-tobacco.html

African Proverb

Obi ntu mere ensie siw so. (Oji) : Nobody gathering mushrooms replaces them on the ant-hill. N.B. -- Mushrooms most frequently grown on ant-hills, the red-clay structures of the termites, conical heaps 8 to 12 feet high : therefore the first person coming to the place would apprepriate them, not thinking they belonged to anybody.

One of the most amusing incidents I witnessed with jackals concerned the eating of mushrooms. This took place in the Ngorongoro Crater when I was watching a family of two adults and four cubs. The whole family had been eating mushrooms of various types, but one day I saw one of the cubs eat a species I had not seen jackals eat before. Ten minutes later the cub seemed to go mad. He rushed around in circles and then, to my amazement, charged flat out, first at a Thomson's gazelle and then an adult wildebeest. Both animals stared at the tiny creature and hurriedly got out of its way. Unfortunately, I could not find another mushroom of that type for identification. I am convinced the cub was suffering from hallucinations.
