Is a DVD autoclavable?

Looks neat but I think foil or jar lids would take up less surface area. Keep thinking though.

Surface area isnt a prob, they overlap.
The hole in the middle of the dvd allows extra moisture to the cake while keeping it from contacting the perlite.
Foil seems flimsy and doesnt provide the same moisture benefit and theres no room to write on a lid.
keep thinkin though:tongue:

Do to the small amount of space between your cds, your cakes will not receive as much moisture as if you had used lids (why would you need to write on a lid?). I'm sure it will work, it's just not worth it imo.

I don't think 1 inch apart is any greater than you would normally have.
The hole in the CD actually provides more moisture than a regular lid does.
And id rather use my lids for something else.
I write on them in order to tell my strains apart.
It does work and i like it.

I started doing this on my first grow and everything went good . But then i noticed that allot of my fruits started turning and growing towards the cd's.

But if it works for you more power to ya.

I think the hole in the bottom also helps and hurts cause of the extra moister where the hole is I got allot of bottom pinning.

Have you noticed any of these things?

I don't know but I've been told. It's hard to run with the weight of gold                                                                  On the other hand I heard it said. It's just as hard with the weight of lead.

I haven't noticed that.
Although some of the ones that grow from the bottom are saturated at the base.

In the jars are ban thurian's and falbino's.
They werent quite fully colonized yet, so i let them go a couple days with the lids off.
they'll start pinning and finish colonizing and i'll birth them.

In this tub are falbinos, ban thurian, koh samui and pe6.
My next project will be attempting to hybridize falbino with pe6 through a new method i am developing.
