can i store my dried shrooms in plastic baggies? whenever i have bought shrooms they have been im plastic baggies(as with any other drug i have purchased) and i was just wondering if i could store my dry shrooms in plastic baggies, i let them sit under a fan untill they were pretty dry now i have them sitting in a desiccant chamber and they will probably sit there for at least a day or 2 and i will only need to keep them in bags for 2 weeks tops

From what I hear, storing in a wooden box of some kind is best for keeping them the driest.

Once they are thoroughly dry I don't even think they need to be in a bag if they'll be consumed within weeks.

yeah if its not dry enough when you put it in a bag, you'll get a strange growth on the mushrooms and they will wrott and you wont trip off them.

I don't remember where I read this, but on an archaeological dig they found a few hundred to thousand year old dried psilocybes that were still active with little to no loss in potency.
(I'm always reading up on archeology & paleontology especially when it comes to ceremonies w/ botanicals & famous fungus)
I had mine completely dried in a zip-lock bag for 5 years in a dark closet that were still just as potent the day I picked them...

as long as they are 100% dry you can store them in a bag no problem, just if they arnt, they will mildew or something akin to that.
I read that too about the ancient mushrooms i think on this forum even.

~Are you thinking of the ancient peyote buttons that were tested and found to still contain mescaline? I mean, I am not saying you're wrong just wondering if this is what you might be thinking of? If not I want to find an article about what you're referring to. ~Pixie~

Nope it was mushrooms, cuz after I read that I didn't worry about mine going bad. I didn't even really know anything about cacti back then so I wouldn't have even remembered it being it didn't relate to me.
I wish I could find it too.
I'm not positive of the thousand years, but I'm sure it said atleast hundreds. I'll try to look for it...
