Quitting Grass
    #8126046 - 03/10/08 12:59 AM (16 years, 23 days ago)

ive been an everyday smoker for the last 4 years with the very rare break. i plan on going grass free for 2 months to see what not stoned is like again. mostly quitting for that but i am also wanting to start a more serious job in a real work environment (only 21, never worked in a big business) now i know pot is not physically addictive and i have never felt the must smoke pot even on stressful days or extended mini breaks (traveling etc etc). anyone have any suggestions if i get the urge?? ive been thinking about trying the legal buds, but is it actually some sort of high (not expecting pot high, but some brief calming or anything like that) i also plan on getting into meditation and yoga in the next few months, anyone have any suggested reading for meditation??

If you search around the forums you will find that what you're talking about is quite a common theme here. I personally would recommend taking a break from weed if you feel like you've fallen into a rut.

I quit a few months back and enjoy being able to think much more clearly. Just my $.02 though.

I take month to 6 month breaks often.

No real problem at all.

You are likely to get urges.... I do not recommend keeping much booze around. Your more likely to drink alot.

I've smoked Parsley if I really wanted to smoke something - It is innactive kind of tasty and mild to smoke.

You'll be glad you took a break irregardless of how you go about it. Pot is cool like that.. easy to set down and pick up again.

Hey tell me if you lose your appetite for a few days after you've quit... I quit 2 days ago and I have probably eaten 2 bowls of cereal in the past 2 days

ha ha i love smoking grass too. im also a cigarette smoker as well, so i won't be quitting smoking all together. really looking forward to the next 2 months, maybe more if i feel like it, but summer is coming so that means festival hopping, and its hard to not partake there heh.

legal bud is just salvia and some herbal smoke. and for the next twoish days your gonna want to smoke, but than your mind will mellow out and you should be fine.

This morning I decided I wanted to take a couple month's break from the ganja too.  Breaks are great for motivation, clear thinking and fitness.

Now my girlfriend is toking up in the next room.  God damn, its one thing to not buy weed but its a different thing entirely when the pungent aroma of grass is filling your home.  Which is why I'm about to go take a bong.

Good luck smokeybear.

If I was a doctor I would prescribe you a big healthy dose of strong opiates

--------------------
"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise." - Aldous Huxley

well i passed my first urge last night ha ha, 24 hours in and i wanted to, was offered and refused (even drunk ha ha) i think this is going to be easier than i thought. pretty sure my cig smoking is going to pick up some, but not really any more than usual. bad thing is is there is some sour diesel coming to my area this weekend. looks like im going to buy some and let it get a decent 2 month cure on it and be completely gone when i hit it next.

oh and as for opiates, im kosh without those. i like to smoke some opium from time to time, but i try to stay away from pharmys, shit will hook you faster than crack, and easier to get heh.
