Here is something that works well. I took Damprid and put it in some plastic containers, because when it soaks up water you will have to pour the liquid out, a pain, but that's what you get with Damprid. I set those in the bottom of a plastic container/chamber then put a wood frame with a screen on top. Put whatever you need to dry on the screen, close the top of your chamber and you will be set. I also put the whole chamber inside a heavy garbage bag and twist tie it up to make sure it is sealed. The Damprid will last a very long time that way. I also use as much damprid as I can so I don't have to worry about dumping the liquid as much.

If you really enoy the hobby of growing mushrooms and think you will continue growing in the future. You should look into buying a food dehydrater. It will pay for itself. Damprid gets expensive after a while and creates a hugh mess.

is there even a need to fan for 24 hours or can you go straight to the tupperware and damprid?

I have never used a fan. No matter how much I have. Works fine every time.

It?s better if you use a fan. They dry faster that way also.
What happened to me once , i placed wet mushrooms on desiccant and forgot about them. When I opened the container 2 weekslater green powder escaped to the room - mold spores! The desiccant reached it?s capacity while the mushrooms were still moist and they molded away.
The moral of the story: Fan dry the mushrooms first.
