its never formed an actual cake like all my other jars have, with 1 tap itll all fall apart loosely. Just seems odd.

i dunno from what i can see in the pictures, it looks fine.

just has more fuzzy than rhizo growth it looks like.. prob why it isn't pulling it together.. case it case it.

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

fruit if it isnt contamed. keep the casing layer wet and it will untilize the moiture from the casing layer

Bacteria and like T said, water content. Even a uncolonized cake should hold its form. If its at the point of falling apart in the jar, I see it being rare that it decides to get aggressive again after you break it up and spawn, unless its only a water content issue, and not contamination.

That jar is pretty much done. I am sure you could isolate some dna from the living matter. If your jar is not colonizing at exponential rates, something is wrong.

But I think you deleted this post already so I am not seeing it all.
