Here is how you upload photos:
Also, we need some more information for ID requests:
II. Accurate mushroom descriptions
It is critical that you describe mushrooms fully and accurately in order to get a proper identification.
A good picture of the mushrooms is invaluable, but not required. Along with the pictures YOU ARE REQUIRED to provide the following data:
* Habitat (where [woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude] and what [soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?)] does it grow on) * Characteristics of the gills (color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc) * Characteristics of the stem (length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc) * Characteristics of the cap (diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc) * Spore print color (very important!) * Color that the mushroom bruises * Scent of the mushroom * Anything else you might find important
For a template ID request please see this thread.
For more detailed guidelines for describing your finds, please view this document.
For an explanation of mycological terms please refer to this document .

OK these were found in Southern California at MT.Baldy mountains, it was on just regular soil, in the woods, maybe 10,000 feet in elevation, the gils were brown, the stem didnt turn blue when touched, they had a hard very small in diameter stem, and were 4 inches tall, the cap as you can see was bent on the outer rim upwards a little bit

I would say Psathyrella like scout suggested, except that Psathyrella has a very brittle stem, not a tough stem.
Can you get a photo of the underside?

From that photo, they could be Psathyrella, though the description of the stipe does not match up.
I can't get any more specific or certain than that without a photo of the underside, unfortunately.

I have been finding those too...they have the odd stem ,dark brownish red ,slightly scaley ...hollow and look soo close to a subb.....I also get no spore print on white or black ,from pin to rotten........just a funny yellow ,where the gills touch the paper..but no print?

I don't think the mushrooms lmfsmoke found are the same as those purple Psathyrella.
Here are some more photos of the purple Psathyrella, it may be P. laevissima.
