Growing P. tampanensis (sclerotia) and Atlantis (sclerotia)

My friend is interested in growing some stones, read some real positive things about them. He has a few questions that he's been trying to find out about before starting.
A. Have a pre sterilized 4 lb bag of rye grass seed which he plans to inoculate with 10 cc's of Atlantis. Is this amount OK or too much. My friend read to inject 2 to 5 cc's but non of the posts tell the weight/size of the bags used. He does not want to over saturate the grass seed.
B. He also wanted to try and make some jars with some rye grass seed. he was going to use quart jars. he's read 3 different posts on the proper recipe. 200 gm seed to 220 gm of water 110 gm seed to 180 gm water and one other which was 300 ML seed to 150 ML water. Which one would you recommend. Can't find consensus.
C. Do the jars need to breathe? He was planning on using some high heat gasket sealer and keeping them sealed if he punched an Inoculation hole. He's read some say to use tyvek or a filter material and other say no need. But since they are going to be sitting in a dark closet for a few months, he would think that the seed would dry out. The bags do have a filter however for air exchange and he's guessing that they do not dry out so will probably need to let the sclerotia breathe as well.
D. If he uses a filter say tyvek and plans to use a glove box he's thinking it would be OK to open the lid and inoculate rather than go through the filter and then tape the hole.
E. Finally, he planned on inocing the jars with 10cc's each. Is this too much or should he go with 5 cc and does he inject in only one hole unlike a rice cake.
Appreciate your opinion/suggestions.

A. 2.5 cc is fine... just be sure to inject between the substrate and the plastic, to spread the spores over the most surface space. Do NOT inject straight into the substrate.
B. There is no consensus. Try several mixes and see which is right for you.
C. Yes they do... but not much. Too much breathing room and they may dry out. They do enjoy less oxygen than other fungus. You should be fine.
D. Tape the hole, it works... just use the part of the tape that was covered by MORE tape... not the part that has been exposed to air. Or use a band-aid. Opening the jar completely, with spores AND, without a flow hood, is too much of a risk.
E. WAY too much (More spores and water is NOT better). 1-2 cc... the less the better... 1 cc is fine of you CAN shake the jar... 2cc is good if you can't. Let the spores run between the glass and the substrate. Don't inject the substrate. The glass will spread the spores for you.
Good luck.

So if he injects with less cc's he would be better off but it will just take a bit longer to get sclerotia going. That's OK he'll be able to make more jars. The only problem he has is if he use quart jars he can only get one in my PC at a time because He will have to center the jar in the middle in order to get the top on. Could he grow stones in a smaller jar like a Pint size or would that be too small. Only seen posts with qt size?

Pints work fine. Just adjust the recipe. Or do quarts... one at a time. You don't need to do too many jars if you are successful, and growing for personal use.
