Does a wet side of a pf jar make it WAY slower?

I have 4 jars incubating right now... 3 of them just have a rim around the bottom left to colonize the 4th is the same except one quarter of it (injection spot) has looked wet and slimey since day 2. But in the last 10 hours it started colonizing JUST a bit around the edges of this "slimey/wet" zone.
Does this sound somewhat normal? or should I ditch that bitch?
Or maybe cutting the side off?
Its my first grow so i wanna be safe

Ok SO SORRY for how long it took me.. But here are the best pics i could come up with. The "wet" side that i'm nervouse about looks like rotting milk in texture whereas the rest of the jar is that beutifull rizamorphic sliced bannana look
EDIT: I cant figure out how to upload a pic

It is probably contamination. I had the same thing in two of my jars. Open it up and sniff it. If it smells off then it is probably bacteria. Mine smelled kind of like wine.

Looks okay to me. Don't sniff your jar if you think it might be bacteria or something bad. You could seriously ill if you did that. Just let it grow for a couple more days in an area away from the others and see how it looks then. If its bacteria you would be able to smell the rankness out of the holes on top of your jars.

it would be a wet area or contams. I would say wet area. There are tell tale signs of that. See that the mycelium has no rhizomorphs in that area. it just looks like a cloud rollin gover the mycelium. See the brown areas of mycelium, this is also a sign of water getting in during the cooking.
one would think that water getting into a pf cakes would setle at the bottom but the cakes are like sponges and the water settles wherever it comes in.
I could only hope that you didnt put too much water in it when you made the recipe. It isnt that hard to do.
try to know the cake loose and make some head space over the uncolonized part. See if this helps.
cakes should always be left alone during colonizaton. Doing what I just suggested is only a last resport type deal. Knocking the cakes loose can introduce contams but in your situation you are out of a cake unless you do it.

I'm pretty sure my recipe was good... cause the other jars seem to be fine. I double tin foiled it when boiling but i guess it still mighta leaked... I did open the lid and smell it and there was nothing foul. I'm headin out tonight for V-day with my girl but in the morning I'll give it a tap if it really needs it.
You said Its just cloudy and not rhizomorph... so that means it IS most likely mycelium? and if it covers the whole area in that cloudy myc instead of rizo will it still be cool pending no other contams?
Thank you so much guys

double foil is no better than single foil. Foil only keeps the water that drips off the lid from getting into your jars.
Hot water is a lot thinner than cold, foil is not even close to water tight on the side of the jars. Once the water hits the foil/glass connection it can easily work its way up to the top against gravity.
Almost like a percolator coffee maker works.

That jar looks contamed. And I wouldn't recommend sniffing any contams.

the ribbed jars make it look bad. Probably worse than it is. This is why you are supposed to use the 1/2 pint wide mouth jars.
