Is this mold on my pedro harmful? should i just slice it off? does anybody know what it is? thanks

I doubt it can be to harmful- but why risk an unknown.  Just slice it off-

food molds. :smile:

2 questions, why was it moved from contamination forum?

and, i've heard that mold on food isn't poisonous before, why is this? i can't believe that but this is one the few other times i've heard about it. Well, what about ergot mold, that can grow on food, not very likely, usually something else wins i think, but it's happened before. I've found mold on old cereal that had that same purple black look. I've also found it growing on my hawaiian woodrose, i assumed that it was there because there's many ergot alkaloids in the vine, so that would probably help the mold, those alkaloids are there for a reason, they're like vitamins or something for anything that produced that.

i think the contamination forum is for mushrooms only. I dont think all molds on food are harmless. But i dont realy know anyting about mold sooo i cant realy answer your question.

I had the same thing with mine, they were in the box too long being shipped i guess. Is that what happened to yours too? I just cut the moldy parts off and an extra inch or 2 just to be sure, but I was replantinig mine...doesn't seem like thats the plan for you though haha. anyways i did keep the extra chunks that had no mold :laugh: doesn't hurt to be careful though, I'd chuck the moldy parts.

when you cut it off, put some rooting powder over the wound. It works good as an anti fungicide .
