Storage of colonized rye w/out fruiting

Hey yall, another question from moi.
I've got several quart jars of rye seed colonizing quite happily, with a good 20 jars already fully sterilized and ready to get a hit of the colonized goodness in a few days now. I don't have a good setup for an indoor operation so I'm going to do outdoor patches, and was wondering if it's okay (because it's too cold to fruit said shroomies now) to pour colonized mycelium into a tupperware container that is sealed (I don't know how airtight they are...) and just leave em in a dark place for... say... two months tops.
I don't want to plant the mycelium in the ground yet, not necessarily because its cold but because the manure and hay that I plan on laying down with it would most likely not be so grade A by the time spring and some warmth/moisture rolls around.
Mahalo.

If you can pour it into a Tupperware container, I'm sure you can fruit it indoors for the off season...? "Mono tub" , "Double Tub" Spawn to some coir or manure?

I meant I can't grow shrooms in my house. It's not an option. My girlfriend wouldn't be pleased if she found them =/

Colinised substrate can be stored in the fridge for months, but that is obviously not an option.
I think its a really bad idea hiding something like this from your girlfriend.
I told my girlfriend before i even got any supplies and thankfully she didnt have any objections, infact she wants to try them now.

Just grow some edibles along with the others. She won't know the difference, and you can share the fruits with her.
