Thanks RogerRabbit!
    #7772010 - 12/17/07 10:23 PM (16 years, 6 months ago)

I just wanted to say thanks for your awesome Let's Grow Mushrooms! DVDs. I have watched both DVDs in their entirety a few times over the past couple of weeks. During that time, I built my glove box, incubator, and fruiting chamber. While my glove box's holes weren't as pretty as the ones in your DVD, my Tyvek sleeves still covered up the holes to stop the air flow :P

Today, I inoculated my first set of 1/2 pint BRF jars, using your Getting Started with BRF Cakes as a guide. While I have 12 jars, I only inoculated 9 of them... because on my first couple of jars I used too much of the spore material. While I'm kind of upset with myself for this, I view it as a "rookie mistake". I'm hopeful that this won't affect the cakes negatively.

Anyway, sorry for this long winded post. I'm just excited to be getting started with this, and I wanted to tell you how grateful I am that there are people like you and others in this community who go to great lengths to make this easy for guys like me. Thanks again!

RR's posts are always informative and he definitely knows his shit when it comes to growing mushies. His methods are tested and always proven to be effective and he manages to keep them simple, which most definitely comes from first hand experience. If it didn't work for him, he wouldn't recommend them and the fact that he's been doing this for 30 some years really says something..

We're lucky to have him posting on here as often as he does and I'm always humbled when I get a reply from him on my posts.

As for your rookie mistake, I wouldn't worry much about it, it's hardly a mistake. People use anywhere from 0.5cc-4cc per jar (being two extremes) and it works regardless.

RR, you're the archetypal mentor. I've been around here with different users for years now, and you still remain the father figure.

My deepest of thanks.

I guess I'll get on my knees and suck his cock too.

You're a good guy RR. You do good things for people. Much respect man. Seriously.

You've probably saved everybody's grow op here a time or two with trivial information people often overlook but make all the difference.
