    #7752725 - 12/13/07 07:11 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

My cat has been missing for over a week now, and now i have to live with knowing that my cat is ether dead or some ass hole fucked up enough to steal someones cat has him or even whose my dad killed him witch is very likely.
It's really fucking with me because I'm starting to forget what he looked like. I love him so much I wish he would show up.

What if your cat just ran away? I don't think cats are very high profile for stealing. You can legally get free ones whenever you want.

Hope it all works out

Put his litter box outside, so he can smell it. He may come back...but I won't lie to you, it isn't likely :frown:

one time I thought my dog ran away, but it turned out he took a nap in a neighbours garage while they went away for the weekend.

I've had cats go missing and come back home 2 years later. Of course they weren't the same in the sense that they were "wild" when they came back, and they didn't stay for long, they just got some food and left about a week later, but its still very possible your cat will come back.

Set its litter box outside like trendal said with some food too. Food helps alot.

You indicated that it's a male. If it hasn't been neutered then it may just be out doing the tom cat thing. Some of them do that once in a while. I've had cats stay gone for nearly two weeks.

i'm sorry. :heart::heart::heart:

put food inside by an open window (if you put it out raccoons and shit will eat it), sometimes if they're out and not far the smell of tuna might make them come right back. also report it to your local humane society or whatever applicable - so that if he was injured and taken to a hospital, or if he shows up at one - they'll know how to identify him as yours.

i lost a kitten over a year ago. he was 2 months short of a year old i think and one day he left, i thought nothing of it, but never saw him jump up on my window ledge to get in again. i kind of freaked. looked for him everywhere, checked the humane society all the time, anxiety attacks constantly. wanted to blame anything i could. i finally realized, that if he's not coming back, i'm really better off not knowing. horrible what-could've-happened scenarios don't help anything. when i think back on it, i'd rather some kids just took him (he had no collar) not knowing he was someone elses. a year later i was walking through my next door neighbours abandoned house and yard (crazy lady, old, went to a mental institution, blah blah i used to smoke there cause they had a cool view) and i saw a cat that looked just like him, with a collar on, jump up and away through the brush and over a fence. it brought some peace to my mind.

Sorry to hear your cat is gone, but there is no reason to despair just yet.

My cat often stayed away from several days to more than a week. A real tiger, came back well-fed with the occasional feather in his poo.

Once I was 4 miles from home, suddenly my cat runs from a bush straight towards me and wanted to be petted.

I would say.. use the TEK to look for your cat (often they are very close to home) and if he isn't back in 3 weeks.. assume you will never see him again :frown: Don't hang on forever hoping he will one day return. Try to find him and if he is not back in three weeks, accept your loss.

I lost my cat for a week once when he sneaked out of the garage. It was very depressing. I thought I'd never see him again. Not knowing what happened was almost worse than knowing he was dead, but I was lucky and he came back a week later.

When he came back, he got an RFID chip put in and a collar with his name and my phone number on it which hasn't been off him since.

If you care about your pet, put some kind of identification on it or you may regret not doing it some day. The majority of lost pets without some kind of ID are never recovered.

I hope your cat comes back. :cat:

He wasn't chipped we were just about to take him to get fix.
He was 1 year old & a pure siamese. I still have his mom and sister but he was my little buddy.
