my face gets real red when attention is on me. i start to sweat and i cant think straight. the only thing i can think of is how to get out of this situation as quick as possible. which usually leads to me just walking off or just starring down. when i say i cant think straight i mean that all my thoughts are so jumbled and dis ordered that nothing ever comes out right so i just come off as retarded. heres an example: I'm talking to one person (which I'm find, most of the time) and 2 more people walk up and join the conversation. now instead of having a simple conversation my face turns read, i sweat, i cant get a sentence out and if i do i mumble or stutter. normally i just sit there and grin or just walk off. its much worse then this but I'm not all that great at explain shit in great detail.

anti-anxiety medication is great.
my mom has had stress and anxiety issues her whole life, which led to some annoyance to me growing up (early curfew, as she could NOT get to sleep unless i was home, etc).
now-a-days she's on some anti-anxiety meds and she's so much happier and more carefree. i can tell she loves her new 'life' so much, it makes me happy to see her so happy :-D

Ask your doctor about benzodiazapines - they are a whole family of anti anxiety drugs that do work. Explain to your doctor specific everday situations (like you did above) when you get anxiety...I am precribed klonopin and xanax (both benzo's) and they work great. The xanax pill (that I am prescribed)disolves on your tongue in an instant and works immediately. Good luck.

desuf,
i'm in a similar boat, not as extreme as you though. i've tried nearly every drug in the book and have found xanax to be the most successful.
if you've never taken xanax before, it will blow your mind, you'll go "wow, is this what normal people feel like?"
haha, take care man.

Where can I buy xanax online, anybody know a good cheap source?
I'm UK, pretty sure its legal to buy it here.
I have similar problems desufnoC. I have found a few things to help alot. 1. Force yourself to think positively and not worry 2. Avoid some drugs, especially weed 3. Throw yourself in head first at any opportunity despite the consequences
and remember - its a big old world out there and we are but a grain of sand in an endless desert. Nothing realy matters.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your anxiety. I have a little myself, and I've helped treat a lot of people.
The best known, researched, and agreed upon treatment for social anxiety or anxiety of any type really is called exposure - not medicine. Often times people find medicine helpful to start with, but it really never "fixes" the problem - only makes it worse in the long-term.
I can't describe it in as much detail as is warranted, but there is bountiful information online. It is best done with the help of a counselor/therapist/really smart friend, but it is possible alone.
In short, it involves working througha heirarchy of social situations that make you anxious. Start with the least anxiety provoking situation, and confront it head on (expose yourself - expose). Do not avoid, but seek the anxiety and manage it with breathing and self-talk. Do not avoid the anxiety, but alternatively, seek it. Eventually, without avoidance your body will habituate to the anxiety, and you will feel very little. It may take several attempts, but anything worth doing, is worth doing well.
Do your own research. Seek a counselor at a local college (often free or minimal costs) and start doing exposures. PM me with any questions.
Also, remember, it is just anxiety. It is not deadly, just uncomfortable. Just as a thought is just a thought, anxiety is just a feeling, a passing motion. Think of it is a joy to experience.
I wish you the best, and know that you are not alone.

MDMA Cigarettes Alchohol
All will help in social situations, unfortunately none of these are very good for you.
Weed is bad for social anxiety. I find mushrooms don't help me. Fuck prescriptions. Find a chatty-as-fuck buddy to kick around with and let him do all the ice-breaking and talking while you just nod and grin like a dumbass, that's what I do.

Also, if your smoking da cheeba...take a break. Cannabis is highly associated with anxiety, especially of the social variety.
