Hey, it's Shroomster. I had to change names for this site, because my server thingy got all fucked up....ANYWAY:
I've shroomed 3 times before. The first 2 times went with ease and were wonderful. My last trip sadly was a bad trip for most of the time. I had a huge loss of ego, which scared the shit out of me. Now I'm most likey going to shroom this saturday, but I'm scared shitless. I don't want a loss of ego again. It made me want to die....Not a pleasant experience.
I was wondering if there was a way to ignore the possibility of getting that effect. And if not a way to make your trip a little better if loss of ego does occur.

Then why, may I ask, are you going to be shrooming??
Having any sort of fear before you consume the sacred fruit is not smart at all, in my opinion. Your mind should be clear, calm, and ready. Of course, it's nearly impossible to dispell every little bit of anxiety before going into a trip, but to be down right scared is not a good idea!
My advice to you is to take the example of the trees... Let the breeze blow your branches, and do not resist it no matter how strong the wind may become. In other words, go with the flow! Embrace the experience, and appreciate it for what it will give to you.
I know it's easier said than done, but simply have no fear!

I know how you feel, man. I had an extrememly bad acid trip a year ago in April. This was all due to my stupidity and lack of knowledge of the potentcy. I made the mistake of going out with my step-brother and his girlfriend (I was the only one tripping). Before I knew it my mind went blank and bad shit happened. I separated from the two people I was with. To make a LONG story short, I woke up in the hostpital with deep cuts all over my body from where I tried to kill myself in order to end what I thought was a bad dream.
Anyway, the next time I tripped was almost exactly a year afterwards, only on mushrooms this time and with two great friends and my girlfriend. I was a little nervous, but I had a few days to think about it all before we shroomed. I suggest a little meditation or deep thought in order to overcome the fear of the dark corners of your mind. Also, make sure you're tripping with, or at least around, people you know well. Surround yourself in safe environments with good atmosphere. And, of course, go for the dosage you feel most comfortable with. Keep telling yourself you'll be fine and you will. Look at your upcoming trip as a way to reclaim and rebuild what your last trip ravaged. That's what I did when tripped the year after the bad trip and it worked very well.
If you feel ego loss coming on, just go with it. Don't fight it. For, to fight the trip is to fight youself. And, as you know, that's not a pleasant battle.

If you are scared, don't do them.
Probably some later time you'll want to do them, then good. Your head knows best and if its not ready to trip again don't trip.

hes right, dont shroom if you have doubts. I didnt have doubts but my shrooms were just unusually potent this time and/or my tolerance went down and I had the hardest trip, unplesent ego loss too. this has caused me to view shrooms with utmost respect. if you still want to shroom, take a much lower dosage than you normally do. my normal dosage was 70+ grams, but I will stick to about 40g now on

watching a movie is the best thing to do when u feel like shit and your world is gunna end cause in no time u are destracted from thinking im gunna die to wtf is that dude doing in the street or whoa that surround sound is no joke!!! your mind can change off a bad trip its just if u want to or not. alot of bad trip u start beliveing the bullshit you are thinking i know its alot easier said then done but u can pull your self out of it
