Oh very nice!! I wish it was wet enough for my Hygrocybe psittacina patch to fruit. They are such spectacular photo subjects.

The first one looks like Entoloma bloxamii or a Leptonia species. I have the big west coast entolomoid book, waste a lot of time putting a name on it. I won't let you borrow it unless you piss me off.
The Lepiotas in 6 are great and I guess 7 is a Russula xerampelina.
Regarding number nine, please read this. I spoke with the lady who write this at the fungus fair this weekend and told her what a great document it is.

Here's another of species 1 from above:
Some more parrots:
Here's another of species 9 with flash. You can see the print on top of the smaller specimen - grey-green?:
Another of species 2:
A top view of species 6:
And some others:
I was surprised how wet the forest was because we've had no substantial rain for a while. I guess it's the coastal fogs and lack of sunlight under the forest canopy.
There was an abundance of mushrooms!

That one just screams Leptonia.

I think the print on those will come out white.
Cool fairy rings of Clavaria vermicularis!

The Lepiota species described in the link reminds me of this:
It was also found under redwoods near the monterey bay. It had a strong spicy-fruity smell that I couldn't quite place. I took 3 big drags and then found myself disgusted by the smell in a way that I can't explain.
The 9th specimen above had a yellow stem and no distinct smell that I recall. I could see a dark stain within the gills near the stem.

For eating or simply viewing pleasure? Just curious.

k, thanks. I new they were quite inedible. I was just checking to see if there was something that I was unaware of.
But on a visual note...I find it interesting how, in their underdeveloped stage, they are shiny, brilliant, and attractive, but as they age and "ripen" (spore-wise) they turn kind of dull and ordinary on the outside. See where I am going with this? Just a little human/mushroom parallel to think about...

Yeah... not to take over your thread scout, but i hope you don't mind me showing a comparison of some Parrot mushrooms at young vs. mature stages.
When they are young, the cap is a striking green, and as they age (whether or not they dry out!) the cap fades to peach, yet the stipe remains yellow throughout it's growth.

Not at all. There's always room for more Parrot mushrooms.
