Because they don't even seemed surprised by the gun... no emotion, no fear... just bad acting. The girl doesn't even react when he points a gun at a guy holding a bat and calmly just gets the camera upon his request.
Why would the guy drive to a dead end?

What do you want them do to do put their hands in the air and take a nice big shit in their pants? Maybe they drove to a dead end because he wanted to pull a gun on them? hmmmm? Also they knew they had a camera, he had plenty of time to tell his girl what to do when the stopped. Maybe it was fake but what you said has no justification at all at being fake.
