prisma color markers

does anyone know if they are worth the price? I might be getting a whole set of them in a few hours, and it runs about $85. I have a 30% off coupon for one item at the store I'm going to though, so that helps out a ton.
Kinda like a math problem that you'd get in middle school.
Anyway, do you think it's worth it? Has anyone had or used prisma color markers? I've used them, and I think they are amazing, but i wanted to know what other people thought. Maybe there are other markers i should buy, or maybe i should get some really nice colored pencils.
I just wanna start drawing with a new medium I guess. I've been using a number 2 pencil to make my drawings since the dawn of time.
So i guess the question is, what do you think of prisma color markers, and what is your favorite medium (to draw with)?

What's wrong with Crayola markers? I used those all the time when I was a kid and they worked just fine. Never went dry, bright colors, easy snap on caps.
They only cost like $3 too. Are these markers made with organic dyes or something?

When I did art way back when, I had the ultimate set... It was like 5 rows of 20 markers all in color order.
It was awesome... I'd buy them again!
EDIT : Make sure you get a blender one! It's clear actually, but it works well to smooth transitions.

I am an artist, and lately I just use my leftover jenkem as a fingerpainting medium.

well it appears they are more expensive than i thought. =(. Looks like i won't be getting them. My $85 price just climbed up to about $120. I guess i just pulled the $85 price out of my jenkem maker.
Oh well... Maybe I'll find something else. Maybe I'll just spend the money on illegal substances. =(.

They are pricey but they are more then worth it. The sets tend to go on sale near Christmas and the set you are thinking of cost me around 90 usd last year.

i love prisma color in general, especially their coloured pencils. i hate how they are so expensive, but i do think they are worth it. a discount coupon for prisma color is like a gift from heaven though.
my favourite markers are copic markers though, which are even more expensive than prisma color (a whopping $5.95 per regular marker and $6.95 per wide marker!), but there are like 300+ colours and they are absolutely amazing. so smooth and vibrant and blend like no other marker, not to mention the colour it looks like on the outside is exactly the colour you get. THEY'RE ALSO REFILLABLE, so you don't have to buy new markers every time, just new ink! it's too bad that they are WAY too expensive, so sadly i will never have my own set considering the large sets (sets of 72 markers) are $428.40 each, so to get the majority of the colours (all three 72 marker sets) would cost roughly $1285 total, and that my friends, is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on markers.
