Dolomitic Limestone ?
    #7597825 - 11/05/07 09:45 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

Pardon my question, but my first language being french, (From Quebec... not France..lol) i sometimes got doubt about translation....

Because its almost starting to snow here, the only thing i could find are those 2kg boxes of " DOLIMITIC LIMESTONE "...
my guess is that its good... and its roughly the same as "HYDRATED LIME".... .. But IS IT ?

The only prob. might be that it comes into GRANULAR form.. ?.. is it ok..? i guess it will dilute when i pasteurized my susbstare with the boilling water in coir tek...?....

thanks

You dont want to use that...dolomitic lime is too high in magnesium. Magnesium inhibits fruiting, as I've had to learn the hard way...I ordered some crushed oystershell flour...from what I hear it works pretty well...although I wont know for sure until I've used it on my next batch.

moreover dolomitic lime is a very "slow-release" formulation designed not to burn your lawn...which renders it pointless for our purposes.

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.
