Who still plays with these gems? I still whip them out from time to time, especially while on a nice little psychedelic adventure. I think I stopped playing them because of contantly stepping on 1x1's and 1x2's.

I'm also a liscenced Magnetron Spaceman;-)

I appreciate Legos.

My favorite was space overall, but I "needed" to buy all kinds, merely because I was obsessed with having the most variety and unique piece selection when I was a kid.

I even had the Monorail, bitches!

My parents USED to be well off, before my Dad died, and when he was working at the Power Plant.

I had two Ninja Turtle Sewer Systems, Two Technodomes, Lego Monorail, and usually the newest sytem(s) on christmas.

No we is po'. KoAsRmMoAs!i!s

aw, dude, I had ALL the TMNT shit

at least one each of all the figures, plus the sewer set, technodrome, turtle blimp, turtle wagon, etc...

I think I sold it all at a garage sale when I was a teenager and spent the proceeds on weed...

LEGO is a great tool for learning kids to use their brains. All parents should offer their kids LEGO because it aids their mental development.

remember when the TMNT arcade game came out in like 1990?

I must've blew $50 in quarters on that machine before I tired of beating it.

my first exposure to it was a friend's bday party at a skating rink.  Dude's mom got pissed because nobody skated, they all just wanted to play that game in the rink's arcade.

It also hurts the mental development of the parents raising the kids because they're always steppin on 'em and finding them in weird places like the refridgerator or pantie drawer.

I still have about 12 boxes of lego... I intend to give it to my offspring.

Legos are fucking pricey now. I've seen lego sets sell for well over $100.

They are fun toys, though. Loved 'em as a kid.

My brother had made a cool LEGO car out of just bricks and plates that held two puppets, them being us. Our Swedish avatars had all sorts of suicidal adventures like driving off the top of the stairs at maximum speed and headon collisions.

Nowadays LEGO has too many prefab things. In our days there was little more than bricks, beams and plates, like it should be.

I agree but I really liked the Technic sets, with gears and flywheels and stuff. I also liked the little men with facial hair and eyepatches.

No words to express how awesome Legos are.

I havent checked out new setts out in ages, but last time i did it seemed that there's an increasing trend in the decresing attention to detail. Which is a shame.

Who remeberes this shit: http://www.bowesproductions.com/images/ci_lego2.jpg ?

The first large police station, the gas tanker, ships with hard plastic hulls, trains, lots of other smaller setts. I had so much fun.

I remember at one point i used up a large portion of my large collection to build this secret research compound: shit was fkn huge - elaboate building structures going up to 3 stories with a working elevator shaft ;p

Had so much fun with the old

This one time when i was locked up in the crazy house, this pathological liar hired me to steal a gameboy super pack, or game genie or some such thing from this little gay kid.
So i did it right before weekend furloughs, and the kid took it home. They searched the building, but couldn't find it.
So the kid gets back, and he dosen't have the $5 we agreed apon.
I tell him o.k. make sure you have it next weekend, but sure enough he keeps dodging me, and making up excuses.
So finally i get sick of this patho's shit, and wait till he's alone in his room playing with his legos.
This kid had giant lego sculptures all over his room, that must have taken years of tedious work to complete.
So i said alright you fuckin patho, you wana play games with my money? And i started smashing all his mallenium fulcons, and empire state buildings, and his life sized mario statue. Just kicking them all over the place. Than i booked it.

When he snitched, and the staff came to question me i said i didn't know a thing. Now normally my word was shit, but they couldn't write me up for anything, because the kid was a pathological liar.
You had to assume whatever he said was made up (god knows what his motivation was) he would tell you with a straight face that he was a warlock of the 13th level, and his girlfriends parents were billionairs, and were trying to kill him.

Anyway he came up to me the next day and gave me my money.

I used to build a pirate base and a castle and then the pirates and medieval people would fight until the Ninja Turtles blimp would crash into both of them.

Man, I was so bummed when I came from college and found that my parents had given all my Legos away. Those were my favorite toys ever. I can't wait until I have kids of my own so I have an excuse to play with Legos again.
