Found a wallet

I was walking to a Halloween party when I found a wallet on the ground. the guy's whole life was in there... from credit cards to social security. Also had 50 bucks in it.I looked at the address and decided to do the right thing and give it back. I was dressed in a gnome costume so when he came to the door he was a little confused! I'm glad I did the right thing

I generally take the money as a reward and then return the wallet.
-------------------- "To do right is to know what you want. Now when you are dissatisfied with yourself it's because you are after something you don't really want. What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana

how nice of you! i've never found a wallet but once an old woman in front of me was going through her handbag and a large bill fell out. she didn't look like she had a lot of money so i just picked it up and gave it to her. i always thought when someone loses their cash and no one except me sees it i'll keep it but i just picked it up and returned it to her. sure made me feel good.

I would only take money from someone's wallet if it was LOADED, then, promptly return the wallet. If the Wallet is loaded, than they prolly are. Money osmosis is not a crime.

Nice job.
I once went on a weeklong high-school field trip to Yosemite, hiking through the woods and what not. Lost my wallet somewhere on the trail and figured it was gone forever. Well low and behold, about six full weeks later, back in school, I get called out of class and into the office thinking what now... Turns out some dude was hiking and found my wallet! It looked like it had been through hell with tons of water damage. But as I had my school ID in there, he forwarded the wallet to the school, and included a note along with a personal check to compensate me for the cash that he found in it at the time (to insure no one else would snag it before it got back to me!). His letter closed, "Have a nice life!"
I'll never forget it.

I found a wallet once it had a 5 dollar bill in it. But I had someone leave over $120 in cash on the front counter at work, no one was around, i could have easily pocketed it, but I told one of my head managers to keep it in the safe until the owner came back, she was over 60 years old, I am too much of a nice guy to take money from someone that needs it for bills, food or whatever. This was about 6:30 am that day.

I've lost my wallet before.
Honestly, if someone takes the cash out of it but returns everything else, thats fine with me.
Its usually a bigger pain in the ass to try to replace all of your cards and shit than replace the money you have in there.

I've lost my wallet not once, not twice...but THREE times. You would think that I would learn, eh? Every single time it has been graciously returned to me.
I'm very grateful for the kind souls who have made the effort to return it.
