Anyone know how to hook a battery to a wall socket appliance?

Would anyone be so kind as to educate me in the means of making a wall socket appliance portable?

I'm hoping to start an outdoor mushie grow soon, but the weather is much too cold. I'll be burying the mushies underground, and within their container I was thinking of putting in a "heatbomb".

Since I can't plug the heatbomb into a wall, a hack to make a portable heatbomb is in order.

If someone teaches me how to wire wall socket devices, I'll post up a guide to the portable, waterproof, heatbomb.

I don't think it is very easy. I *think* you would need an inverter because a battery is DC and the outlets would be AC.

I could be completely wrong, so don't let me discourage you.
