not so much a weather question.....
    #7535957 - 10/19/07 03:25 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

ok, i know that youre not supposed to start threads about the weather, rain/temp, etc.... but i have a more specific question. In the mid-atlantic we are in the throes of a hardcore drought, and no rain in like 34 days. Well, it rained a little bit. And im wondering, will there be an explosion of fungus due to the recent 1/2 inch of rain? Or do i need to wait a few days before i hunt again?

If this is out of line, let me know!

disclaimer: i tried to research, and i cant find specifics. Mycologists help me!!!

Try to wait for another 1/2 or more. If this if the first rain in a long time, it is likely they are just starting to get ready to sprout.

ill give that to you :P but the crux of the issue is, will fungus sprout faster after drought conditions end, than if there was regular rain?

No, Gary Lincoff told me that it worked out the opposite way. Once it dries out pretty good that is pretty much it until you get several rains.
