So i have a fair amount of pins and they are growing in big clusters and one cluster in particular has a big shroomy in it and all around it the other pins have aborted, however it looks as if they all come from the same base.... how do i pick these without messing with the big one?

There's no need to pick them before the big on is ready. Just leave them and harvest the whole cluster once it's ready.

I let my aborts hang out until I harvest the good shrooms, and they never get soggy/nasty unless you let them sit there for a long time...like more than one flush for instance.
