Does the pain radiate out to your arms or shoulders or stay confined to your chest area?

It could be just a panic attack or you much be experiencing some problems with your heart. I'd have that checked out if I were you.

focus on relaxing yourself and get checked by a physician.
if no problem is diagnosed then i would think that you have a lot of toxins built up within you.
get it flushed out and adopt an organic, nutrient-dense diet.

I see you have a lvl 70 rogue, how much time do you spend on the computer? It could be bad posture. During my worst MMORPG addict days I had terrible chest pains in many different places. They were resolved by restoring my posture.

no no, i am speaking of a toxin build up that happens when your bodies waste products accumulate faster than the amount it can flush out of your system. perhaps your body is calling you to re-examine your current lifestyle ?
nearly all physical problems can be traced back to a feeble immune system, so it is always a good thing, if not an obligation, to keep your biological machine operating smoothly.
also check to see if you are getting sufficient vitamin B12 and B15, as heart ailments can be symptoms of a deficiency.

Everyone:
this is all good information. it could really be all of these things is the bad part. my life recently has taken a turn for the worst recently and i also think that my body is going out on my somehow too. i did a brain scan the other week, the one with all the cords and there was a point of internest they said i have some type of seizures or migrane variants. you can have a headache but not feel it. the neck/shoulder may feel tense but thats all. but really the brain is shorting out for a little while. it has happened to me a few times a year for the last 7-8 years but i never did anything about it. i finally went and now all this other stuff is happening in my life at the same time. i think thats why i need to see a head shrinker too. this is getting to be a little much

I suffer from panic attacks, though it's been extremely rare the past half a year, thank god.
My symptoms include nausea, dizziness, and a horrible, horrible feeling which kinda reminds me of having a bad trip.

A panic attack is very much like a bad trip. Just thinking about it causes my stomach to swirl around. gives me a very dysphoric feeling.

Did you receive these psychiatric drugs from a psychiatrist or a physician? How often are you receiving therapy?

Under the vast majority of circumstances, you never want to find yourself taking psychiatric medication without proper therapeutic oversight. This is an enormous loophole in our current system which probably will never be closed because drug companies are in the business of making money -- but regular doctors are allowed to prescribe psychiatric drugs without any training in the field of psychology. Such drugs will at best only alleviate the symptoms of your distress. Without talk therapy, the causes will not be addressed. On the surface you may feel better but on a deeper level you will not. On top of that it sounds like your doctor may not have done the best job informing you of the potential side effects of these drugs. Xanax has a relatively high addiction potential, not to mention short-term memory loss and muscular discoordination. It is regarded as very effective in the treatment of short-term anxiety, but there are alternatives in its drug class (benzodiazepines) which are less habit-forming. SSRI antidepressant drugs like Paxil can cause a number of side effects (such as loss of libido), but are still relatively safe and can be effective in treating depression and anxiety if they are dispensed properly. If you have the means I highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist or at least consulting with someone who understands where such medications fit best into your individual situation. People are 'mis-diagnosed' all the time. The fact you're on Paxil but don't understand what it's supposed to be doing is troubling.
You said you've been going through a lot of stress recently. The effects of psychological stress on health (i.e. the immune system) are well-documented and form the basis for the field of "psychoneuroimmunology". It's very common for stress to manifest physically. With panic attacks your body tends to go into "fight-or-flight" mode, and it feels as if you just walked between a grizzly bear and her cubs -- except there is no bear; you're just at the supermarket, or dinner, or some situation which shouldn't be making you feel that way. If you're living with stressors and underlying anxiety, you really should try to figure that stuff out if you want to make any headway. A good therapist can be invaluable in that regard -- not just happy pills.
