sterilizing a seasoning injector..

I have a 2oz seasoning syringe the needle is stainless steel... it says dishwasher safe on the package.. but that wont sterilize it right? i need to use it with an lc to rye inoculation.. i was thinking boiling some distilled water for 15minutes add syringe, boil that for a few minutes then place in a sterilized bag until it cools and ready to use .. i think i could put together the whole syringe in the bag ..

Sterilize it like you would any other syringe.
