My first Liberty Caps (possibly) - ID Request

I've been looking for Libs for the past few weeks now and I finally found some mushrooms that look VERY much like the pictures I've seen of Psilocybe Semilanceata.
Here's some info on where I found them:
Area: Central Finland in a grassy area with lots of grass lumps around. Found in: Lumps of grass Weather conditions: Dry, cloudy, warm (about 17c) Characteristics: + Bell shaped cap darkened by spores. Caps are 0,5 - 1,5 cm wide and 1 - 2 cm long + Dark grey gills + Long (5 - 10 cm), crooked, treelike stem + Spore print was brownish red
Pictures: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee214/KyonISM/habatus.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee214/KyonISM/heltat.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee214/KyonISM/kakssemii.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee214/KyonISM/kuivana.jpg
I'm almost 100% sure myself that these are Libs but I thought I'd play safe and ask someone more experienced first :P
OT: First post in shroomery btw. Thanks for the great site

She is right. Several deadly mushrooms have brownish red spore prints.
Could you please describe the color in more detail, or post a picture of the print with good lighting and focus?

Those look like a common pannelous (spelling?) species and are not deadly.

I wish I could but my camera is from the dark age so I cant take good pictures from that close :| BUT the spores are BROWN with just a TINY BIT of red color in them. "Brownish red" was stupidly described, sorry.

I've found that same panaeolii about 10 times prior to these finds and I could tell the difference to these right away.

Quick question: If the temp and conditions aren't even right yet for good fruiting for ps. semilanceata in the UK, is it even possible to find the same species in Florida where it is up to around 30c? Having said that, those nipply ones look like the real thing. But i suppose you cant just go by a couple non detailed pictures. If this temperature thing is true, can some one expound on this please?

Brown sporeprint? That would rule out liberty caps. Brown spores would most likely indicate pan foes but they don't look like foes. Do you think its dark or light brown? Pan's also have speckled gills. In the first and third picture i see a dark spore deposit around the edge. With foes/pan's you don't. Do they have sticky caps? (libs often stick to paper/cardboard when drying) Any bluing around the base of the stem? Do they dry to a light almost golden yellow colour?

From the description and pictures you have they dont seem to be Psilocybe Semilanceata to me.
Purple sporeprint, small nipple, and have a cuticle(sticky see through skin that can be removed from cap carefully) is what you should be looking for.

I recommend you obtain a better camera if you are going to be into mycology for awhile.
It should be purplish-dark-brown. Was it like that, or more rusty brown?
A good camera will have macro mode, so we can see all these details for ourselves.
> is it even possible to find the same species in Florida where it is up to around 30c?
No, but this guy is in Finland, where liberty caps probably are fruiting right now.
I am undecided, need more info.

Ok, I'm an idiot. I saw central F__ And my brain saw 'Florida'. Stupid me. Thanks for clearing that up. Note to self...READ MORE CAREFULLY. I thought it was strange that someone from florida would be searching for libs. Just didn't make sense. Now it does

When i saw the first few pictures my reaction was 'no', however the last picture is quite odd. The one on the far right looks like a Pan to me, the second from the right and one on the left look potentially libbish but not really separable from other LBMs given the pictures shown, the second from the left and middle do look like Libs to me.
Overall inconclusive, need better pictures sorry

Dude I knwo it is a little late but just to tell you, you shouldn't really have to spore print a lib. If it has a little nipple and blue bruising you are golden. look for the white stem or brown to tan cap depending on the weather as of late. You could call some of my lib spore prints brownish and I know for a fact that I have libs. I would actually venture to say that libs spore prints are more brownish purple than blackish purple. Check some fields that have had cows, horses, or sheep in the past year or so and you should find a bunch. I recommend going a day or two after a rain, that way the caps dry out and are easier to spot because of their tannish color.

Always get a sporeprint.
And the stipes on these look extremely long.

They look good to me, I've picked a lot in oregon. But yeah if they aren't PURPLE-brown spores don't mess with em. There's some nasty LBM's out there. any blue staining? only really nice libs show it, sometimes not at all.
