Extra colonization time for rye, not casing?
    #7425613 - 09/18/07 08:32 PM (16 years, 6 months ago)

After colonization of rye jars reaches 100%, would one be wise waiting a few extra days help gaurd against contams if he were going to do rye tins and NOT case? If casing weren't an option for somebody, would it be better for him to hold off crumbling the rye for a few days reduce the risk of contams?

On a related note, how much hydrogen peroxide would be safe to mix in the water for a perlite layer and humidifier/air pump combo before it hurts mycological growth?

Uncased rye will fruit poorly, if at all. You need to spawn it to manure, or case it with peat/verm.
