I know that it is advised that everyone read through posts and do searches to answer their questions, but this has been a problem for me as there is quite a difference in many people's opinions. Respecting the communities opinion I figured I would ask you directly and see if I got a response. I am trying to design a fruiting chamber but I'm not sure what exactly I want to do. I was thinking about building a smaller version of a martha closet inside a cabinet of mine out of pvc and plastic sheeting. I would use mortar mixing trays inside of it and a cool mist humidifier. I was wondering if this would need a filter patch/vent of some sort or if the positive pressure would be enough to make its way out of the tent.
The other thing that I was considering doing was a monotube style chamber. These are much simpler but I don't know if I like the idea of the low air exchange. I was thinking about trying to outfit one of these with a coolmist humidifier but I don't know if it will raise the humidity too high or if it would actually be beneficial as I'm theorizing at this point with minimal practice.
Your expertise and advice would be greatly appreciated in this matter. As I mentioned before I've done alot of reading and searching around but there wasn't anything that I found that made the answer too definitive to me. I figured the best way to answer these questions is with experience which I am lacking.

Do not use PVC its a pain in the ass to work with and a simple garden hose is a better subsititute. If you have space id go with a montub with a coolmist, it will be able to keep the humidity up above 95% easily.

I'm just an idiot but I made a monotub with only four holes- 2 x 2" on the ends and 2 x4" on the sides at a depth close to the surface of any projects
those holes are stuffed with sponges the bottom lined with wet perlite
and it works just fine even when i have to be away a day or two at a time.
THAT 's the important part.
i lost an early mush kit due to lack of FAE because I had to work too many hours that week. this simple setup has precluded any such further horrors.
when i'm home yeah i mist and fan it manually, but if i'm not home it takes care of the basics by itself.

A simple but efficient fruiting box - nature pure.
Easy and cheap to maintain - use water and soap to clean.
Since the Seramis does not get in touch with the box, there is no need of chemical cleaning actions. The shrooms are happy and give you good Psilocybin in return. Just be nice to them and let them grow.
Spray water once a while - only one hole is open - the others are closed. Shrooms do not like a room-tornado three times a day... so there is no need of air exchange every three hours!
I think one should not use chemicals in connection with holy shrooms.
Good grow

I was going to use the pvc for framing, not for humidification. I've kinda scrapped that idea at this point as well though. Now I'm thinking that I'm gonna build a tent structure out of the plastic and just use the existing structure(cabinet) as the frame.

I'm kinda shying away from the monotub idea at this point now that I've looked at my size constraints a little more thoroughly. A question though, why do you use sponges instead of polyfill? People usually use polyfill because it's non-absorbent and won't(is less likely) to harbor contaminants. From what I've heard about sponges they are one of the biggest hosts to funky stuff in your entire house.

well if you're using a cabinet you're going to need to put lighting in it and you're going to want to pump the humidifier into the fc so it takes care of your fae for you.

Like I said I plan on basically setting it up like a martha closet I just didn't go into all the details. I'm probably only going to use the coolmist though because it's not that big of a space. It's going to take a little messing around to figure out how to get the rh optimum. I don't know if I'll be able to leave the coolmist on constantly or if I'll have to put it on a timer, or maybe I could alter the rh by messing with different sizes/numbers of ventilation. It's still a conceptual thing at this point.
