Giant Protest against a War on Iran?

Should we make one? This is lunacy. Since when does the government get to do things that are against the will of its people?
Should we protest against the war, and gather everyone we know, and spread fliers, etc, to get the word out?

i have a feeling that we will do something to Iran, in which case there will be massive protests, but i fear that there wont be enough mass will to hold the kind of protests youre thinking about until that happens. People are too apathetic or isolated/unattached.

i have been watching this for long time. it has occurred to me that nothing i (we) can do will help because the Govt wants these wars.
there are huge protests each month, but you never see them on TV, only if you look for them.
do anything you can. but if you hit your head against a wall enough times, all you're going to get is a headache.
I hate to sound so defeatist, but this govt is scaring the shit out of me - and at this point, im going to ride it out - 18 or so odd months - lets hope he can be kept away from the nuclear warheads for that long.

we dont even have enough troops to defend our homeland if something were to happen. this is so fuced up! its all just a ploy to keep bush in the office.. fuc, fuc , fuc... my wife better not get deployed again. iran has like the 2nd or 3rd largest army in the world. this will be our demise. every great power must eventually fall.

a protest is a waste of time, unless someone is passing out firearms. then you have something.

Protests aren't a waste of time, they just haven't been strong enough yet. If you have to protest for weeks in front of the capital, then don't pussy out after 5 hours and go home, stay camped out there with hundreds of thousands, and let it grow.

So if I don't want to stand in a group of young people most of whom are strangely dressed and the majority of which couldn't find Canada on a map let alone Iran and some of whom are even protesting things such as are interplanetary relations with pleadians and chant slogans with them, I'm in bed with Bush?
I'm of the opinion protests don't do a damn thing.

I'd love to see a protest to make Days of Rage look like an episode of telly tubbies. The protests, if there is a war on Iran, will be huge, but I don't know how much good they'll do.
Marching in government sanctioned protests is fairly pointless. Maybe if people start trying to break police lines and other things that actually get some level of media coverage, it'll do some good, and I hope that's what happens. However, marching in an orderly line along a route the government has ok'd is not revolutionary.
