what's the lowest temperate a more sativa type plant can handle? i live in florida and the nightime temperatures in the winter get below 50, usually in the day it warms up though, do you think the plants can handle that? peace

if theres bud it can survive freezing temps. it will produce more resins. thats why hunters find plants when the snow hits the ground. it's one of the only things still green.

i've noticed the plant is very resistent exept when they're young? are the roots overtaking? i'm planting it in an area where there are many old weed roots or something, there aren't many plant left there, but for some reason there are still these really old roots like yarn strung out throughout the ground. I want to dig them up, but just don't want to get cought digging, which shouldn't be a problem, but was just wondering if cannabis roots are strong enough to overtake other roots. Jeez, i wish there was a root guide, so i could see what plants those roots belong too, and also if cannabis is resilient enough to overtake them, anyone? peace

its always best to dig out old roots. as a matter of fact dig a huge hole "the bigger the better" and fill the bottom with stones and then the rest of the way with good soil. use coir and a huge huge hole and you will have a MONSTER plant. Of course the bigger the plant the better chance of choppers spotting it. the main thing is when you plant it to keep watering until the taproot grows deep enough to find the water table.

in the beginnings of American exploration of the Mississippi River settlers used the Cannabis plant as a source of holding back the river banks as they began to build docks and settlements - the taproots were so mighty it was akin to growing an enormous tree on the bank of the river to prevent erosion of the dirt.
basically the taproot will more than likely overtake the older roots and furthermore if the " leftover roots " of previous plants have degraded its possible they could be used for nourishment.
