Need Help! My tin pans are caroting
    #7345641 - 08/28/07 05:59 PM (16 years, 7 months ago)

Hey I have 5 tin baking pans with WBS spawned to coir w/ added Gypsum,  Hydrated lime, and coffee. Well they started poping up a week ago and there just small shrooms. There are a lot! But are all real small :frown:

So i picked off one whole casing just now and went to dunk it for the night, then discovered a bunch of holes disovling the pans.... Do you know what can cause this.

So I looked on all the pans and they are all like this. Please help...

I'v heard of them deteriorating because of a chemical reaction between the aluminum or tin and horse crap or any type of manure..but im not positive if that happens with any of the things you'v listed =/

Mycelium waste by-products will cause this , but not usually so fast .

I quit using those for that very reason. Some (sub)strains will produce this effect much more than others. My Redboy strain would eat through those aluminum pans before first flush. Black plastic trays are better. Kitty litter trays are another option.

Alright. so its not because of to much lime or gypsum?

Thanks for the help!
