goddamn antiperspirants

i can't find one that works. it's like my body gets immune to them or something. they'll work for a few weeks, but slowly and surely my pits will start winning the battle. that right guard sport with the power stripe? can't even make it out the door. it's like i never put anything on at all. I've been using the mitchem sport clear gel for a while. it was fantastic for the first stick. now i'm getting towards the end of the second stick and i can't make it to lunch without pit sweats.... which is pretty bad since i get up at like 10.
and it's not like i'm a big fat hairy man who sweats all the time either. i don't like running the AC too often to save on power, so my apartment is kept a little hot. but even still, i fucking want an antiperspirant that works.
what suggestions have you got for me shroomery?

Just keep switching. I've also found that I become immune to brands after using them for a while. I usually go with brute/arrid/something else and I just switch every so often. Works for me.

I can see it now, he has to keep his elbows to his sides all day. Later in the same day he'll drop em and his friends will be like "...wtf?"

Funny..I have the same problem. I go with Speedstick 24/7 but it's starting to lose the battle. I might try Old Spice now...haha..roommate suggested Secret (yes, a womans brand).

I say fuck deodorant. Baking soda is the shit!!! You can use it as deodorant(and a million other things). Just rub a little lotion on your pits first so the baking soda will stick and you're set! Most deodorants have alluminum compounds in them anyways.

Yeah, I've always been a bit worried about Aluminum Zirconium seeping through my pores

Me too. I started using deodorants from the natural food store, without aluminum, but to save money baking soda works. It's already in the kitchen, ha ha.

I don't even buy them with antiperspirants anymore
as long as I don't smell that bad, I don't care if I sweat or get pit stains...why should I be embarrassed about sweating?

I don't even need to wear deoderant. I have found that when I eat a healthy diet, I don't create bad odor or even sweat out my arm pits much. When I ate like shit I had to wear it everyday. That's all I can recommend because you couldn't pay me to wear that shit.

baking soda works well. It totally neurtilizes the smell without leaving a shitty aroma.

do you make a paste with it and apply like you would for a bug bite or do you just splash some powder on there?
daytripper05: it's been in the 100's this month with 100% humidity, you step outside and you begin sweating. ten minutes of any remotely physical work and your pits will be gushing

i'm not worried about the smell. that's why i specified antiperspirants. my pits don't really smell unless i wear the same shirt like 3 or more times, or i do some intense exercise. however, despite the outlook of some of you, i am embarrassed by sweaty pits and would like to avoid it.
in regards to old spice high endurance, that was my stick of choice for a while last year, but like all the others, it buckled under after a while.
the baking soda thing intrigues me. is that just for odor, or does that actually act as an antiperspirant?
