Growing Some Type of Mushroom
    #7301328 - 08/16/07 02:39 PM (16 years, 7 months ago)

What mushroom can I grow that is legal and can obtain spores in the United States of America, that has similar growing parameters/needs as the Psilocybe cubensis mushroom?

Thanks for your help, also what would be the main differences?

Are Oysters similar to P. cubensis?

Are there other mushrooms that can be grown with the PF-TEK?

Are Oysters similar to P. cubensis?
Yes and no, they are both mushrooms, oysters will grow on a lot of things that cubensis will not, sawdust, cottonseed hulls, logs, just about anything with cellulose in it. Oyster don't do so well on poo and compost as cubensis does however they do grow well on pastuerized straw.

Are there other mushrooms that can be grown with the PF-TEK?

Yes, shiitake, reishi, oysters, just about any wood loving mushroom will grow using the PF tek, if you substitute sawdust for the vermiculite and adjust the water accordingly.
