My kombucha log

Well here it is.
This is the list of items that I bought along with pictures.




Total cost ended up being $50-60; 25 pounds - 30 pounds (I think)

Anyway heres the stages and second fermentation.

Day 5-6 I tasted it but I ended up giving another day just in case. The taste surprised me since the slimy things floating in it. Tasted like apple juice, cider, but smelled like vinegar.

Cider how?

Dry? Sweet?

Was it bubbly at all?

EDIT: Considering you bottled it, it'll probably get pretty fizzy as the rest of the sugar ferments.

It just tasted similar to cider. It was slightly bubbly. Wasn't fully dry. My second fermentation should do the trick.

I like to let my bottles sit in a cold dry place for a few + weeks with a couple pieces of ginger in it. Super effervescent!

Im just confused. I dont know if I fermented it long enough. It didnt taste like tea. Slightly sweet but weird. Smelled like vinegar. Their were bubbles in the scoby but none on the side of the glass. The bubbles were not bead sized but more like a marble in some places. Do you think I did it right? It was brewed at a constant 80 degrees F.
