Mycelium climbing up the sides of container before casing.
    #7277005 - 08/09/07 04:35 AM (16 years, 7 months ago)

I have a small container with WBS > Hpoo now pretty much 110% colonized and about to be cased.

The mycelium has climbed the sides of the container and is in places much higher (1 inch above the rest) than the casing layer will get too when applied. The rest of the mycelium is pretty level except for the skyward reaching rhizomorphs

So should I...
- remove the myc climbing round the edges with a sharp knife before casing
- just pile the casing up the sides as well
- case it level and leave the myc up the sides to its own devices.

???

edit: Having a closer look I think it is from some small stray poo that stuck itself to the sides, but it is connected to the main bulk of the sub

case like normal it's actually a good thing since the mycelium is done colonizing and looking for more things to colonize.

Excellent.
So just put my casing layer on flat (All the sub is pretty flat) and let the over active bits of myc up the side hang out the top?
