How do I stop them from being marked all read

When I'm making a long post and I've got it open for a while (maybe 20 mins or more -- sometimes I'm making supper or something), all posts in all forums are marked read once I finish it and go back to browsing.

Does anyone else experience this? Is it a bug or is there some reason for it?

are they marked as read or not when you re-login?

I think it starts tracking whats read once you log in, when you log out doesnt that reset?

Once a post is marked read, it is marked read forever and ever.

I'm not logging in or out here, just taking a while when posting.

yep, that happens to me too.  And sometimes when i log in, everything is already marked as read, even though i haven't been logged in for a while, and there have been new posts since. :shrug:  It's rather annoying.

Yup, annoying.  I experience all of those problems with the read/unread threads.  Sometimes, it won't mark them as read- i'll open it like, 4 times thinking there is something new.  :ohwell:

I just thought it was my cookie timing out or some silly crap, I'm constantly getting sidetracked while reading shit and getting everything marked read.

Then I have to look at the time and date and figure out if it's what I've read or not instead of it being all pretty and highlighted :frown:

Do you guys still have the problem if you set "How often to backup posts" to "0" in your basic preferences?

I idled on a thread after changing that setting to 0, for 25 mins, when I clicked back on the subforum link at the top, they were all reset again, in that subforum.

Yes it still occurs, but this time it was confined only to the forum I was posting in. Before it was all forums that were marked read.
