I went and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Anyone who lives less than 15 hours away or can afford other transport do yourself a favor and go next year! You will thank me then.
I didn't even know that parties like this existed. It is a party beyond your wildest dreams. Canada is the most friendly country that I've been to.
The drugs were plentiful, potent, and cheap. There were no fights or bad vibes. The 6 stages ran almost the entire time. There were no cops anywhere around. You could totally forget that drugs are illegal when you are there. You can get any drug very easily. You can ask anyone about drugs, where to get them, share with them, etc. Every single person there was so very cool.
It was, by far the best time of my life. Good drugs, good times, good lasers, topless women, good beats, altogether a good time.
There was around 12,000 people there this year. It gets bigger every year because everyone comes back and they usually turn their friends on to it.
It was also almost all Canadians there, so it was really fun to talk to people with a slightly different perspective on everything.

Yep. There was the rave aspect, the hippie aspect, and the trance aspect. There were usually two stages going with slower trance music. I imagine that the really way fucked up people went there to chill a bit. And then people who like slow trance dancing went there too.
It was such an awesome time there, I can't even convey how fun it was.
Get your tickets early, they could be had for $105 if you got them early. Otherwise they were $160-180 at ticket outlets, or $200 at the door.

yeah that was an amazing experience, ive been two times...
diesel boy was just nuts, most bass ive ever heard in my life!
3some with 2 asian hotties,
couldn't have been better.
im not too into the "rave" scene... all those kandy kids with their glowsticks and ecstasy. psytrance is where the energy is, and anything else that blows my mind away.

Yeah I was there. Any of you at Bassnectar's 5:00am set at the Living Room? For those who weren't, he put on Wicked Twitch of the West right as the sun came up and everyone just started cheering. It was amazing, especially as Bassnectar is one of my favourite artists.
Definitely going again next year, but we learned not to camp in the middle of the fields. Probably gonna try getting a spot early down in the forest between Fractal and The Portal. If not there then up in the woods. At least then we could sleep during the day.
The atmosphere of Shambles alone is a drug, and that isn't counting the constant aroma of weed on the dance floor haha.
All of the stages bring their own element in, and I don't think I could pick a favourite one. Though the majority of the sicker sets were definitely at Fractal/The Village.
Already anticipating next year.
By the way fastfred, there are only 5 stages I believe, but anymore would be overkill. Unless you count the chillout tent of course. Oh, and the cops were there, but only momentarily. Some guy climbed up one of the monstrous trees and got himself stuck. You may have seen the firetruck?

i was at the bassnectar set for a while, didn't stay for long though... can't remember why.
if you count the seed of life, there are six stages. seed of life was the psychedelic ambient/downtempo outside of the portal.
next year we wanna pitch for an army tent and gas generator
fill the tent up with couches, kitchen, amp for music, etc. have sleeping tents just outside of it..

> By the way fastfred, there are only 5 stages I believe,
On the schedule it lists main stage, fractal forest, the village, the portal, living room, and rock pit as the stages.
I know there were a couple more places that had a sound setup and people dancing, so I'd say that there must have been around 8 stages depending on what you count.
I kept hearing about bassnectar, and I planned to go at least two different times, but I ended up lost, timeless, or busy with a girl every time they played I guess.
Anyone have any mp3's?
BTW I did see the cops come once, but they were fully escorted by staff it looked like. I heard about the guy in the tree and saw the firetruck. I also heard that someone got busted for dosing random people with liquid acid as they walked by. Not sure if that was true or not.
There were also quite a few ambulances coming and going on Monday... What was that all about?
Anyways, maybe we should have a "camp shroomery" next year?

camp shroomery!!! im totally down for that. i know another person from shroomery who will most likely be attending next year.
i think the ambulance was because of an OD. i read about this on the shambhala forums.
there are some mp3's in my journal. he played at the living room and gave me a cd to burn for everyone. he appears to be a mystery person, as i can't find his music on the internet, he was unlisted on the schedule, and nobody on the shambhala forums knew who he was. he busted out the nuttiest, deepest, and fastest freestyle i have ever heard. it was profound! profound enough to get him in trouble?
