Cloning and Karo LC
    #7213633 - 07/23/07 11:40 AM (16 years, 8 months ago)

Has anyone successfully cloned a piece of mushroome
tissue to Karo LC successfully?

I am working on one now and and I added my specimen
6 days ago and it looks good but just really slow.

Is this normal for tissue cloning?

When I do multipore LC's they take off after about 6 days.

:scratcheshead:

I'm no pro, but I think you are supposed to clone to agar when using a fruit wedge.

I thought it is possible to clone using LC too?

And agar is to isolate?

This would be great if I hadn't posted that I ALREADY transfered to
LC.

Obviously someone has had success, just read about dude that did it and wrote that tek. He also straight up quotes 7 - 10 days as inoculation time. Good luck.

Yeah he uses Honey water.
My recipe is Karo. I wanted to know if anyone
using Karo. Wanted to know if it was a slow colonizer.
Slower than say honey or PD LC. I use PD lc all the time
but I tried Karo this time because I like the simplicity of it.

Have patience grasshopper. You seem like you're trying to nail down the incubation time to within a day.

Various factors create various results.

I do have patiaence my friend. This hobby has taught me that.

My question is only if anyone has seen this type of
slow incubation with Karo specific LC's. If this turns out
to be a slower colonizer than some other medium I don't want to
waste my time with it. Because god knows time is a commodity with
this hobby.

I'm not trying to nail down colonization within a day.
I am curious as to what others get for results with the
variables I mentioned Tissue cloning > Karo LC.
