Does Pink Floyd have anything better...
    #7173129 - 07/13/07 10:48 PM (16 years, 9 months ago)

than Dark Side of the Moon?

I love this album, but I haven't found any others that are this good.

I also like Wish You Were Here.

Any suggestions?

Try the wall. Lots of good songs on there preferably comfortably numb, another brick in the wall part 2 and empty spaces + young lust. also watch the movie.

It's a great album to listen to when you're tripping, yet most pink floyd is in the same sense.

Other than the two you mentioned, IMO the Best Floyd albums are:

Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Ummagumma Live Album
Atom Heart Mother
Meddle
Animals
The Wall

Obscured by Clouds and Relics have some good tracks on them as well.

Wow! I've never even heard of these before.

All I have have are:

Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Obscured by Clouds
Meddle
A Saucerful of Secrets
Dark Side of the Moon
The Wall 1&2
A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Wish You Were Here

Does anyone like the Division Bell?

I'm sorry, but there are so many albums I just don't know where to begin!

I started out with A Momentary Lapse in Reason and most PF fans will tell you that's a large no-no

Considering the division bell was released after Lapse, I don't think I would enjoy it too much

Thank you!

I liked the "punk rock" when I was in high school, and I couldn't stand Pink Floyd at all. I really had no idea what they were about.

I grew up a little, and now I'm embarrassed by a lot of the music that I used to listen to.

The potential impact that psychedelics can have on an individual is quite profound!

I highly suggest you try the album "Meddle".

"Echoes" is, imho, the best work they ever did. There are some wondeful songs on that album anyway.. (One Of These Days, A Pillow Of Winds, Fearless, and of course Echoes.. the rest I could do without)

Hmm, I think the division bell is a pretty good album, but that may be because I'm a David Gilmour fan. Momentary Lapse of Reason is one of there worst, but the sequel to the wall is even worse, I don't remember what it's called.

Everything everyone mentions is good, also check out "The More" or "Obscured by Clouds" - Two awesome soundtracks to films they made.

No way. Dogs and Sheep are the best songs off Animals. Pigs is only the shortest (not counting intro and outro), therefore the most familiar to most people.

I dunno, I just like that song. The guitar riffs are the shit and the "Big, Man, Pig maahan! hahaaa! charade you are!" Lyrics are just awesome.

But everyones free to their own opinion right?
