psychedelics and koan

zen monks are givin a koan, or impossible puzzle to contemplate. a famous one is what is the sound of one hand clapping. what im asking is could a person solve one of these impossible puzzles using a psychedelic ?

Maybe it is a parable of sorts that suggests that just as it takes two hands to clap, it takes at least two people to make existence worthwhile.

Yes, it's only to find out, where the paradox is hidden. As said, one hand can not clap, so it's futile to think about an attribute (sound) of something (one hand clap) that does not exist.
For example, most reasonable one could say, something that does not exist has none and/or every attribute.

to my knowledge there is no real answer to any koan. They do not hide any truth or wisdom, and can't be "unlocked." Koans are designed to empty one's mind by asking questions that can't really be answered rationally, the idea is that when one tries to think them over, their mind becomes empty and they experience a flash of enlightenment, known as satori.

i bet it would be one of those instances where you are tripping really hard and just KNOW you have got it all figured out...then as soon as you start to come down it doesnt make sense anymore...when you are finally down you are like, "wow what the hell was i thinking?"
