What's going on in the brain AFTER dosing on shrooms?

"Psilocybin is a potent serotonin agonist, whose mechanism of action is altogether different from that of the SSRI's."
how exactly does the chemical go to our serotonin receptors? does it drain the serotonin and go to them, does it push the serotonin to the side and go to them, does it go there together with the serotonin, or what?
after the trip is over, what happens with the serotonin receptors?
i ask because i tripped on sunday and i still kindof tinkle in my brain and i still feel like a million bucks. it was a good trip but i didn't trip super hard or anything. i took some dpt pills.
edit: what happens if, all of a sudden, someones serotonin was replaced with someone else's serotonin?

psilocin competes with serotonin and blocks it from entering the particular receptor (cant remember the name) and it gives serotonin more time to act in the synapse
Edit: 5-HT2 are the particular receptor sites involved with psilocin

it stays in the synapse long enough until your body's other chemicals can metabolize it I guess

I'm pretty sure all serotonin has the same genetic makeup, so replacing serotonin wouldn't do anything.

You feel funny because you ate a psychedelic drug.
The only permanent damage I've noticed to my years of mushroom use is the damage done to the visual receptors in my brain. I often see tracers on moving objects, more often then not just lights in the night but sometimes I'll see tracers on signs or cars that go by in the day time.

what will this do to the serotonin?
this is one of the mechnaisms that keeps a synapse activated when some signal has excited it. as I keep telling people. the key psychedellic action is extension of the fading of signals normal signals fade within 1/15th of a second after very few pulses. if the synapse is kept active by ssri or agonists or other chem tricks we experience longer lasting signals trails and entire gestalt dimensions of experience that endure longer than their actual presence. layering and stacking of sensation and reality takes place as a result of longer fading out of signals.
