Ok, I am getting ready to dunk and roll my cakes. I just want to double check this. Submerge the cakes in cold water for 24 hours then roll them in dry vermiculite....... right?

I never dunk and roll, and the results are just perfect. But I think it depends on the substrate-mix. On a relative dry substrate cake this laborious procedure of taking a bath may help. It sure does not make the start of the fruiting process fast and efficient though.
You may look here how it can be done... http://youtube.com/watch?v=KBEZutbpmSs

the dunk is a must since the mycelium cant take in more water in the jars since it cannot expand dunking makes them take in more water which since they are out of the jar they can expand and use that in the first flush

Between 12-24 hours. Whenever I dunked, hell used water period, it was always 1/10 h2o2.
Dunk, roll, and double end case.

if you've watched "ravebaluver's" musical. spend a little time and watch rr's pf tek documentary->
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lets+grow+mushrooms&search=Search YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
doubt you'll find any mention of H202 use during dunking.
maybe that link would should accompany any answer to basic pf tek questions.

There are growers who dunk, roll and also use H202. There are growers who do not dunk, do not roll and have never ever used H202.
Guess to which group I belong ? The shrooms do not like to be manipulated with Dr.Frankenstein methods.... at least, that is what the eternal shroom told me.

Peroxide is toxic to mycelium, so don't use it. Ten percent is a horribly strong dose. If you have cobweb, you can hit it with some 3%, which is the strength it comes from if you buy it in a drug or grocery store in the US. In some other countries, it comes in 10% strength from the pharmacy. I would never dunk with it that strong though, as it would be detrimental to the mushroom mycelium.
Dunk after birthing your cakes for 24 to 36 hours, followed by a roll in dry vermiculite. By mixing up your cakes on the dry side, they will colonize much faster, and then you can hydrate them with the water required for the flush by dunking. This is hands down the fastest way to get a nice flush from cakes. RR

I believe he's using 10% store-bought(presumably 3%) H2O2, with 90% water, which would make it more like 0.3%. But that's besides the point. It's not necessary anyway.
RogerRabbit explains the dunk and roll in the second half of this clip.
RogerRabbit doesn't us H2O2 here, and thus neither do I, and most likely neither should you. If there's one thing I've learned at the Shroomery it's that RR knows his shit.

Why does everyone try to put peroxide everywhere it doesn't belong?

Correct in your assumption.
I used h2o2 in everything as well did Magash and many of the other old school people of the Shroomery. If I used water, I used h2o2. It never did any harm. I used it in all of my humidifiers, and it never caused aborts or any problems. It was a good prevenative and if I ever grew again I would use it just like I did in the past.
