I live in an area that peyote grows naturally, but I really don't feel like going and hunting for it - is there any way of obtaining them in the U.S. legally? or semi-legally?

I wasn't going to transplant the cactus, just harvest the seeds - Pedro also grows out here, so if I find it out here I'll just take a cutting. I rarely transplant anything from the wild unless it's something I'm guerrilla growing.

there are european vendors that will ship williamsii seed to the states... and plenty of lopho growers around here who would trade seed if it were legal to do so on this website...

Just email the vendors that sell them overseas and ask them if they will send to the US. Some of them will...

The Loph in my pic, above, is only 1 year and 4 months old, but it is almost as large as a softball. Own-root that size would take 7 to 10 years. This loph was grafted to Pereskiopsis at 2 weeks, re-grafted 3 months later to the Pedro.

I know of a source within the states. You have to know someone to find out about it.
-------------------- “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835) Trade list http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18047755

How exactly do you graft the lophophora onto a san pedro?

What kind of rhetorical question would that be? It looks like a question question.

I'm not quite sure why people assume that the rules apply to every plant with the exception of peyote.

I have done a great deal of grafting, Lophophora's to Trich's, and have an almost 100% success rate. I could answer the question with a step-by-step pictorial of my method, but wouldn't want to waste my time if the question wasn't asked out of genuine curiousity. I came to this site to learn shrooms, but if there's no good TEK here on the grafting process, I'd be quite willing to do one. Kind of like paybacks for the shroom education -- OTP.
