How active are Panaeolus antillarum?
    #705839 - 06/27/02 02:40 PM (21 years, 8 months ago)

From another posted picture and several definitive answers to that post, I have determined that the shrooms that I picked this week (besides the cubes) are definately Panaeolus Antillarum.

How active are these?

Are they stronger size for size than gulf coast wild cubensis?

Thanks in advance! Shr00m on!

I have read posts on this mushroom sayign it isnt active, however lycaeum.org lists it as containing psilocybin (link below)

http://leda.lycaeum.org/Chemicals/Psilocybin.143.shtml

Anyone with actual experience with these mushrooms?

They're not active at all.

The reason they listed it as active was probably because of a misidentification with a Cope.

I'm sure MJ will elaborate more on this.

They are not psychoactie although in one of my papeers stijve listed them as 00.1 percent, but that is incorrect. They will not get you high.

They arn't poisonous are they? I had one in a stash of 6 other cubes I was drying out and now I can't determine which one had the white gills. If anything I would just have to throw all 6 away and hate myself for the day...

Hey Cusero,

What white gills are you referring to. Cubes have chocolate-brown to purple-brown gills and Panaeolus antillarum has black gills.

So again the queestion.

What white gilled mushroom are you referring to.

Also if you had cubes and had a white gilled mushroom in with them you sure would be able to pick a white gilled shroom from 6 others with chocolate-brown gills. Would'nt you?

Yes those are cubes.

They bruised blue and were just real fresh mushrooms...possibly the spores hadnt been ready to release or something, or maybe they are some oddballs that dont have spores, who knows...
