Hey, not that I need to know, but, If I had a cake that was lookin really good, could I use it to "inoculate more jars by somehow putting a chunk of Myc in it? or I just need one mushroom to sprout ASAP so I can start an LC. Ive got 2 jars I wanna know how I can birth just a chunk IMMEDIATELY. Whats the best way? Im thinkin just put it lil chunk in a cup, throw some Verm on it. and put it in the FC. Why wouldn't that work?

Everyone's going to tell you to forget about birthing a chunk, even if the cakes are fully colonized throughout.
I think you're not even at the step of asking that question yet, though. How long have those cakes looked fully colonized? You can't even think of taking them out of the jars until 3 days after they appear fully colonized (according to RK), or 7 days (if you listen to RR).

Yeah you want to wait it out man. Let them do their thing. then when they're ready just take a spore print and then start a LC.

Im a retard. (in case you couldn't tell) lol. Adaptation-8: Taking the Rice Cake Out of the Jar Before it is 100% Colonized
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The partially colonized substrate can be removed from the jar if the uncolonized portions of it are cauterized. Remove the cake from the jar and heat a nail head red hot using a propane torch or burner on a gas stove. Brand the entire uncolonized area. Advantage: Nothing will grow on the uncolonized, cauterized portions of the rice cakes. If you need to remove a cake early from the jar this will keep contamination from having a place to get a foot hold. There are very few good reasons to exercise this adaptation. The reason the authors have included it is sometimes growing cycles overlap and you want to start a new culture in every jar you have. If you birth the rice cake early, you have an extra jar to prepare cultures in. One other reason for doing this is travel. If your leaving on a trip (one where you will be out of town) and your cake will be overly colonized by the time you get back, you can use this adaptation to birth the cake early and move it to the terrarium.
Disadvantages: This is dangerous. It is asking for trouble. First, you are assuming that you can inhibit growth of contaminates on the uncolonized portion of the cake. The bigger the area that is uncolonized, the more risky this assumption is.
Secondly, the process assumes that when the cake is removed from the jar it has sufficient networks in place to provide the nutrition needed for the fruiting process. If you take the cake out too early, this may not be the case.

think I'll throw the whole thing out. It was fuct anyway. I forgot that it can still be a Cubensis Mushroom, and still kill you with bacteria. for some reason, I had it in my head that as long as I didn't eat a mushroom that wasnt the strain Innocked...then I'd be fine! lol! WOW! I do need to slow down. Im'll fuck around and get sick or die. Slow down AND READ! CONTAMINATED JARS ARE UNSALVAGEABLE, and are part of the process. COUNT IT AS A LOSS! Ya'll are right! (again) I just need to chill the fuck out. and just be glad if ONE cake actually makes it to the FC before I just Eat that MF'r!

You could always inoculate an LC with that chunk of Myc...

Dude, what the hell is going on here?
Are you trying to spawn your BRF cake to more uncolonized BRF?
And on top of that, it's an uncolonized, contaminated BRF cake?
Absolutely nuts, man. Not likely to work at all. Do it anyway if you want--experimentation is great--but throw it out as soon as you see the green bastard come up on your grow or smell that nasty cheap-sake odor.
Just knock up some more cakes and follow the tek to the letter until you know what's going on. If you have healthy ones, birth them as usual, and keep them the hell away from your little experiment. I have no fucking idea what you're trying to do here. ::

Start an LC from a healthy jar. Cut a little wedge out when you birth it and pop it in an LC with some shards of glass to break it up.

Shards of glass? Any agitator will work. I used the wheel off a broken lighter (sterilized over stove).
Still, it's better to wait and take the sample from fruit bodies. What the hell is so urgent here, exactly? Birthing uncolonized jars, can't wait for spores, can't wait for fruits...

Yep agreed, marbles, glass, etc, your general shroomery style improvisation I just like breaking glass!!
As for the rush, I think it's "I have just started growing and want to trip NOW!!!". Pateince will come and good god it sure needs to. I think the "drunk" mood of his posts might have something to do with the rush!!!
I find doing other bits and bobs helps take my mind off of the waiting. Hence the make an LC from a bit of cake advice. It's something to do to pass the time Another pot to watch. If it works it will give him loads of LC to inoculate cakes with incase he gets more contams, which is probably quite likely!! Lots of practice for when he has some fruit he can clone.

Dude I had to pay the rent with a credit card, I've been out of work for going on a month. So. this project is becoming quickly, yet (still unintentionally)"My Lively Hood" you dig? If I don't get somethin comin up off this cake soon, Im gonna be... (already am) ... fuct. So all I was asking, (trying to get a feel for) how much longer before I can launch phase 2. and INNOC more jars. Can't afford another syringe. or any more supplies. Im'll have to charge a bag of verm and peat it looks like. kuz I was gonna do the cake thing, but after reading the TEKS in here, I think I got it.

Yeah, but inoculating more jars won't help your existing jars fruit faster... especially if you screw them up!
Anyway, finish your thirty pack and go find a job! You clearly don't have this scaled up enough to rely upon it, and shrooms don't go well with impatience.

Seems to me your safest bet is to not fuck with your jars anymore than you already have... Let them colonize 100 percent then wait 1 week, then birth them, then take a sporeprint...
There are other less safe ways of going about things that may save you a day or two, but most likely will just cause you to lose your entire crop.
