-------------------- So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

I'm probably missing something (I realize the chick can be seen from two simutaneou angles) but that wouldn't warrant a stamp of genius

Are you saying if you could write two stories under the guise of them being one story, and depending on how you read it, you'd be reading a different story? I'd venture a guess that it's already been attempted - by at least one author.

Wow, leave it to the extremely stoned dude to come up with something that makes sense in relation to the post.

OneMoreRobot3021 has got the idea. I think books like this would fall into a new genre called Psychosis.

I'm sure that would be of interest if it were written in English. Ya know what's funniest about this thread? That the neanderthal sports fans were the ones who got it. Ha!
I can't think of a novel yet. I'll work on it. For a movie I would nominate Truffaut's Day for Night. But I'm not so sure the picture is self-referential so much as it is in opposition. For internally disconsistent (I know I made it up), hmmmmm, beautiful and beastly at once, I'm frankly dragged toward Chuck Pahlaniuk's "Lullaby." And "American Psycho" rears its ugly head as well.

I'm not talking about a book of puns. Eventually everyone gets a pun but I'm talking more about those moments you have while tripping, where you make a joke and it turns into a total insult. If you could write an entire novel like that it would probably cause schizophrenia.

So if I were to write a book called "Kill all Dem Niggers Down Yonder", and I meant it as a joke, but it wasn't taken as a joke, I would be a genius?
