Growing mimosoid plants (mimosa, bundleflower, ect)
    #6960407 - 05/24/07 07:25 AM (16 years, 9 months ago)

I thought I would share this http://www.ethnogarden.com/cart/index.pl/catid_77/proid_151/_/_/SensitivePlant/MimosaPudica

for anyone trying to grow mimosa. Has anyone used vetch seed to help with the mimosa or bundleflower's root system?

"Another method is to buy vetch seeds and plant them in the soil at the same time as you plant your mimosoids. Let the vetch establish a root system, and grow to several inches tall, then pinch them back to the soil line. This can also be done using common pea seeds."

They are very cheap and may help with other plants, much like farmers planting legumes and then plowing them up to help the soil. Anyone?
