 Perlite terrarium, dunking and rolling question

Guys I need some help, I don't want my cake to become too wet.
If I'm going to use a perlite terrarium, should I still dunk and roll my cake?
BTW, I only have one cake. How much perlite should I use?

yes... a few inches of well drained perlite... 100% humidity is 100% humidity no matter how many cakes, the air will still be the same...

Yes, it's always recommended to dunk and roll cakes...no matter how much perlite you use. DONT, however, set it directly on the perlite, you must put something under it. You can use the jar lid or anything really.
It depends on the size of your terrarium on how much perlite to use.
Remember to supply lots of fresh air along w/ the perlite.
No standing water in the tub, either.

every when do i have to change the perlite? do i still need to sterilize it? if so, how?

YOur perlite will work for around 5-6 weeks, if it was damp and you used around 5 inches.
When recycling perlite, I soak it in a 10 part h2o and 1 part hydro peroxide solution, drain til it stops dripping and start using it again. No algae or any problems.

you dont need to sterilize perlite, you can change the perlite about every 4-6 weeks since it will lose humidity by then, then just simply take out the perlite rehydrate and put back, if there were contams boil perlite instead of just soaking

i have a load of perlite. would you recommend putting new perlite every 4-6 weeks? and when should i hand spray the perlite?

You shouldn't be spraying the perlite at all. I am pretty sure its ineffective anyhow.
New perlite? Just recycle what you are using evey 5 or so weeks. You should be through the life cycle (or close enough) of your cakes by then. Save your extra and get a hygrometer. No need for guess work then.
